The April Curation : The Portrait Edition

This month, we will take a deep dive into the world of portraits. We will review the profiles of two artists, who show similarities in many aspects but are in their essence, completely different. Let us introduce you, Jean-Luc Almond and Eliana Marinari.

Almond and Marinari both specialize in painting portraits both are masters in abstracting their muses and they both studied in London. Yet their works look anything but similar. Almond takes a mysterious and dark twist to painting portraits and mainly uses oil on board. Marinari however, combines bright colours, acrylic and spray paint, to visualize her artworks like a blurry photograph. Next to each other, they create a perfect balance between fire and ice, body and soul.
