Andrea Magg

Icelandic, 1977

Andrea Magg was born and raised in Iceland. She spent her childhood on a farm, which was the perfect environment in which to foster and nurture her creativity. As a child, she was fascinated by colour, spending her days happily drawing, always using the brightest colours in the box.

Andrea’s love of vivid colour spilt over into all her creative pursuits, which in time came to include calligraphy, jewellery-making, furniture-refinishing, knitting, quilting, ceramics, and photography. After relocating to the United States, she continued to explore various creative outlets whilst attending art school. Over time, Andrea’s fondness for painting at her home studio blossomed into a fervent exploration of personal creative expression.

The artist's current work is a culmination of her creative experiences and reflects her lifelong obsession with colour, form and composition. Andrea's artistic practice explores colour interaction, experimenting with both balance and tension. Her signature geometric elements and colour play combine to create a sense of kinetic celebration, while her intuitive artistic process gives the work a spontaneous feel.

Andrea Magg's work is part of national and international private collections and has been showcased in art shows hosted by international brands. The artist currently lives in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
